Ambassador of Timor-Leste Named Patron to Indo Timor-Leste Film and Cultural Forum. New Delhi, September 2025: A new chapter of cultural cooperation was marked with the formation of the Indo Timor-Leste Film and Cultural Forum at a special function held at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in New Delhi.

On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and Chancellor of AAFT University, formally presented the Patronship of the Forum to H.E. Mr. Karlito Nunes, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to India.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Sandeep Marwah highlighted the significance of cultural diplomacy. “The Indo Timor-Leste Film and Cultural Forum will act as a catalyst in bringing the people of India and Timor-Leste closer through art, cinema, culture, and creative exchange. This is a historic beginning of our cultural partnership,” he said.

Accepting the Patronship, H.E. Karlito Nunes expressed his appreciation and optimism. “It is an honor to be associated as Patron of the Indo Timor-Leste Film and Cultural Forum. This initiative will encourage greater interaction between our countries in the fields of films, media, education, and tourism, thereby deepening our bilateral relations,” he said.

The event marked the official launch of the Indo Timor-Leste Film and Cultural Forum, which will serve as a dedicated platform to promote cooperation between the two nations through films, culture, and people-to-people connections.
